Yeap. The owner's son called me Sunday to ask how well we did on Saturday. He wanted to know if we completed filing the recertifications. I told the truth. I told him the new manager hadn't obtained ONE signature from the paperwork I left. And naturally, he was pissed. He called the new manager, then called me back 10 minutes later. He said the guy had an attitude. He told me to call the manager and see what his plans were to complete the task. In the meantime, him and his mother was going to the building. A sneak attack, but mainly do get signatures on the paperwork themselves. So I called the new manager and he takes me on a spin of words, excuses and explanations. He had told the owners he only had 12 more signatures to obtain. I knew that was not true, but I decided to let the owners find out for themselves.
Well, when the owners got to the building, the new manager was in the apartment chilling out- drinking his morning cup of coffee and watching television. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall. The owners saw the pile of papers on the floor, just as they were on Saturday when I left. He didn't have 12 left to do, as he lied; ALL of the paperwork needed signatures.
Tuesday should be very interesting. Not only did the new manager fail in his job responsibilities, he was caught in a lie. His credibility is shot. I am embarrassed for him, really. I think he spent too much of his time writing letters of rules, regulations and enforcements to the tenants. You got to prioritize, brother.
